Partnership Politics

Partnership politics takes us outside the box of the conventional political conversation. Instead of arguing about religious versus secular, right versus left, Eastern versus Western, capitalist versus socialist, and so forth, we focus on the long-term policies foundational for the more peaceful, equitable, and environmentally sustainable world we all want and need. Our nation and our world are hungry for new ways of thinking. As Einstein said, we can't solve problems with the same thinking that created them. And as Margaret Mead said, never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world; it's the only thing that ever did.

THE REAL WEALTH OF AMERICA

PUBLIC POLICY PROJECT

Riane Eisler and a group of prominent advisors (including former Senator Carol Moseley Braun, economist Randy Albelda, Kimberly Otis, and other leaders of national women’s, children’s, media, and economic and political organizations) are developing the Real Wealth of America (RWA) public policy project.

At present, only economic and environmental impact statements are required by Congress. The RWA public policy project is developing additional statements measuring the effect of any new program or legislation on our real wealth: our international standing in health, education, equality, democracy, human capacity development, and other quality of life indicators.

Click for drafts on RWIS Indicators and Fact Sheet of Sample Metrics and for a Press Release on Riane's September travel and the RWA project.

None of us can do everything. But all of us can do something. The first step is changing the political conversation.

FULL SPECTRUM JOB-CREATION:

INVEST IN CARING FOR PEOPLE

The real wealth of our nation is its people

This proposal urged President Obama and Congress to create and subsidize more jobs in childcare, education, healthcare, eldercare, and other “caring industries” to stimulate our economy, help families, radically reduce poverty and violence, reward women’s economic contributions, save billions in crime and prisons -- and as an essential investment in the “high quality human capital” needed for our post-industrial economy. Please click here for the full proposal.
